Swapbar vs Claude Code Usage Monitor

Claude Code Usage Monitor is a terminal dashboard that predicts when your session will run out. Swapbar shows the quota Anthropic reports for every Claude account in the menu bar, and switches accounts when one runs low.

Pick Swapbar if

  • You want the quota Anthropic reports, not an estimate.
  • You want it in the menu bar instead of a terminal tab.
  • You run several Claude accounts and switch between them.
  • You want a system notification before you hit the limit.

Pick Claude Code Usage Monitor if

  • You want burn rate and a forecast of when the session ends.
  • You work on Linux or Windows.
  • You live in the terminal and prefer a full-screen dashboard.

Estimates vs reported quota

Claude Code Usage Monitor works out your limits from local logs, with plan presets and a custom mode that learns from your history. Swapbar reads the 5-hour, weekly and per-model windows that Anthropic reports for each account, through claude-swap, so the percentage matches what Claude Code’s own /usage shows.

Terminal vs menu bar

The monitor runs in a terminal window and redraws in place. Swapbar lives in the menu bar, shows the tightest window as its title, and opens with ⌃⌥S from any app.

Several accounts

The monitor watches one data path at a time. Swapbar lists every claude-swap account with its own quota, suggests which one to switch to, and switches with a click.
